About the Principal
Our Principal
​Our Principal, Mrs T.Hautmann, has been at Da Silva Academy Primary School since May 2013. She started working in the 3-4 year old class and worked her way up. In 2014 and 2015 she taught in the Grade R class. In 2016 Mrs Hautmann moved up to the Intermediate phase where she taught Grade 4 and Grade 5 Natural Science,English Home Language and Afrikaans. In 2017 Mrs Hautmann taught Grade 4- 7 Social Science. In 2018 Mrs Hautmann moved to the office where she did all the admin and familiarized herself with the school management.She taught Grade 7 EMS from 2018.

In 2019 Mrs Hautmann became Principal of Da Silva Academy.
​
She grew up in Rustenburg and attended Sellypark Secondary School. Her favourite subject was Afrikaans.
Her favorite subject to teach is English Home Language and EMS.
She grew up enjoying a good, healthy lifestyle. In primary school she played hockey and did swimming.
Mrs Hautmann has a Bachelor of Education Intermediate and Senior phase qualification which she obtained from UNISA. She is also a qualified swimming instructor.

Mrs Hautmann is a positive, hard-working woman with a big heart for teaching and for her family. She is a positive leader and always strives to do her best at Da Silva Academy.
She firmly believes that children will be the ones to change the world, because they are loving, joyful and forgiving. According to her, if everyone could go through life with childhood wonder and optimism, the world would be a better place.

Through her exceptional leadership, Mrs. Hautmann has set new standards for innovation, collaboration, and resilience within our school. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has deeply shaped the culture and values that define Da Silva Academy today.

In 2024 Mrs. Hautmann has represented Da Silva Academy at several prestigious events, including the ICT Conference in Durban, the International Principals World Convention in Kenya, and the SAPA Conference in Gauteng. She has also been the driving force behind groundbreaking initiatives like the Homework Hero program. As the Boitshoko Circuit Independent Schools Champion Principal, she mentors and guides fellow independent schools in raising the standards of education. Her commitment to empowering women in leadership was further demonstrated when she attended the Female in Leadership and Management function, where she connected with other inspiring women. Mrs. Hautmann’s visionary leadership is the cornerstone of everything we do. She gives her all—100 percent—time and time again, inspiring us all with her dedication and tireless effort.
